Pick yourself up a Bargain!
Located in the heart of Folkestone, Bouverie Place Shopping Centre boasts an exciting and vibrant range of shops and cafes. Shoppers can find themselves spoilt for choice, with over twenty stores including an ASDA superstore, a three storey car park, a covered mall and an open air square, all making for an attractive and bright, accessible shopping haven, especially in the peak sales season.
Sensory Shopping Sundays
On the last Sunday of every month stores at Bouverie Place will either turn their in-store music off or have it at a very low level.
Additionally, for those shoppers who suffer from light sensitivity, the lights in the Centre will also be dimmed to a level that is both practical and safe.
“We have had a very positive response from our shoppers to the Sensory Sundays and it is our intention to continue having these ‘quiet days’ on the last Sunday of every month,” says Paul Stone, Manager of the Bouverie Place Shopping Centre.
“When noise does not bother you, it is difficult to appreciate how uncomfortable and distressing the regular hustle and bustle of every day life can have on some people. We hope that, for at least one day a month, shoppers who suffer from conditions such as Perception Disorder, Hyperacusis, Autism, Bell’s Palsy and other conditions that can cause sound sensitivity can enjoy a shopping trip in relative peace and quiet,” continues Paul. “Many of our stores are also doing even more to support these days by having dedicated staff and tills to assist our customers affected by any of the conditions we are catering for. We would also welcome any comments on other ways we can reduce unnecessary noise or light pollution on these days.”
Sensory Shopping Day takes place from 2pm-4pm on the last Sunday of every month
